Summit County Department of Job and Family Services
A distinct view and the ability to succeed in a complex world is an advantage that I bring to any organization. Many stereotypes plague individuals who receive assistance. Regulations and laws can complicate the ability to assist individuals in need. The truth that we all face and must navigate is the stark difference between those who need assistance and those who are eligible to receive it. My career has been built by learning to navigate the differences and specializing in programs to impact as many as possible. The ability to share my journey and what I have learned over the last 20 years can help organizations avoid delays and pitfalls in their mission.
Contributing to a better Akron/Summit County is very important to me and board service would be personally rewarding. I hope to meet new people and gain more perspective on how we can better support those who need support most.
Throughout my professional career as well as in my personal life, I have been intentional about serving in ways that help effect change and create positive outcomes for others.
I’m seeking board service as a way to stay meaningfully connected to my community beyond my 9–5 and to contribute to causes that align with my values. I hope to expand my network through purposeful collaboration while gaining new perspectives and continuing to grow as a leader. Being part of a board allows me to use my skills in a way that creates impact while also building relationships across different sectors.
I hope to grow myself and others through board service. I hope to broaden my network while working with others towards a common goal/mission. I want to be the best version of myself in my community, for my community.
I have had close to 40 years experience in running a small business. I have experienced periods of turmoil due to changes in the economy and periods of great growth following implementation of new plans. I think it would be rewarding to help other women through challenging times and mentor them through their growth.
I desire to help wherever I can, and particularly as a voice at tables where women may have been marginalized in the past. I strongly believe (based on replicable evidence) that diversity of thought leads to better outcomes for businesses, products, employees, and the world.
I have a strong passion for the Akron community and want to help it grow and flourish. I want to serve to help strengthen my network in the community and be part of boards or committees that play a role in driving strategic decisions. My interests include direction setting on strategy, sustainability, organizational culture, and community engagement.
I am looking for an open board seat to not only grow more professionally, but for exposure to different leadership styles as well as an opportunity to network and gain valuable experiences by helping provide strategic direction and oversight to the board/organization utilizing my knowledge and experience over the past 17 years of my career.
I am eager to serve on a board to contribute my expertise and insights to the community, fostering growth and collaboration. Additionally, I hope to expand my network, learn from fellow board members, and develop my leadership skills through meaningful board service.
An opportunity to collaborate and serve companies and functional areas that are unfamiliar is exciting to me! I look forward to investing in a new organization and strengthening my leadership skills along the way.
I would like to serve on a Board that works with women or teenagers who might be dealing with Mental Health issues and Suicide awareness. As a dedicated landscape architect deeply invested in the well-being of our communities, I am eager to extend my commitment to service by contributing to a board. I firmly believe in the power of education and advocacy to drive positive change, and I am enthusiastic about leveraging my expertise to help guide initiatives that prioritize community growth and well-being.
I have always felt the need to give back to my community, providing my skills where and when they were needed. I believe that as we strengthen our community's support systems, we strengthen our community as a whole. I hope to provide needed vision, skills, and expertise to local organizations looking for board members to help move their organization forward strategically.
I get a joy in serving something I believe strongly in and for. I hope to meet amazing people with a passion for what’s right and those willing to do the work necessary until we see the change.
Serving on a women's leadership board would align well with my extensive background in education, workforce development, and community service. My involvement could help shape policies and programs that promote gender equality and professional development for women.
I am a proven leader with a strong track record of delivering results and building organizational capabilities and would look forward to providing that same leadership to a local board.
