I am interested in serving on a board because I realize that boards have the opportunity to create policy as well as rules and guidelines as it relates to the organization. In creating policy and guidelines this can allow for an organization to receive a positive impact for sustainable growth. As an African American, millennial female, I believe I can provide a unique perspective to certain situations that are not always presented when decisions for organization are being made.
Serving on a board will give me a voice that reaches more people. My hope is to have a positive impact to their lives and the world, one person, agenda, initiative and accomplishment at a time. Regulations and laws can complicate the ability to assist individuals in need. The truth that we all face and must navigate is the stark difference between those who need assistance and those who are eligible to receive it. My career has been built by learning to navigate the differences and specializing in programs to impact as many as possible.
