I hope that participating on a board will help expand my understanding of other industries and help feed my internal "continuing learner". Ideally helping me be a better executive for my own company as we traverse obstacles or face new market demands.
I moved to Akron in July 2023 for my job at Kleidon. I'm looking to find a new organization to dedicate time to. I'm also looking to meet new people and learn more about the area.
Senior Director, ZipAssist & Student Affairs Development

I am hoping to give of my time and talent to serve a local non-profit, likely focused on education, women's empowerment, leadership development, holistic wellness [i.e. mental health and basic needs], or social services. I have an academic background in emergency management, higher education administration, strategic communication, and am currently a doctoral student focusing on college student mental health and social support skills. While my areas of expertise or focus are listed above, I also love engaging in events throughout our City, including recreation, play, and our local parks.
I want to get to know the greater Akron community better and give back in any way I can be helpful. I think board service is a fabulous way for me to dive in and contribute in a way that"s meaningful.
I want to be able to give back to the community all that it gave to me growing up. I am passionate about access to programming for all as I feel the access I had growing up helped shaped me into the person I am today.
I am interested in serving on a board because I realize that boards have the opportunity to create policy as well as rules and guidelines as it relates to the organization. In creating policy and guidelines this can allow for an organization to receive a positive impact for sustainable growth. As an African American, millennial female, I believe I can provide a unique perspective to certain situations that are not always presented when decisions for organization are being made.
I never knew where to begin to get involved on a local Board and have thought about it for years. I love this community and NE Ohio in general, so anything I can do to help grow the Akron area and showcase its beauty and all the wonderful aspects that some may not realize are here.
I believe that nonprofits need strong and committed board members. I have intentionally kept my board service limited to one or two organizations at a time because I want to be an active and attentive board member to those I serve. I bring both nonprofit AND business experience/acumen to the table, which is very uncommon for board members.
I would like to expand my personal engagement in the Summit County community through Board work in service to an organization or organizations that are dedicated to helping people. I believe this to be one way I can lend my knowledge and passion to better our community.
I want to serve on the board and what I hope to gain is the same reason to grow my network of professional women while supporting them at the same time.
I would love to connect with more organizations in NE Ohio as I am relatively new to this area and would love the opportunity to further serve this community and network with local changemakers.
I believe that the act of giving enriches both the giver and the community. I am eager to contribute my skills to support an organization whose mission resonates with my passions and values, and to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Currently serve on 2 boards in Akron, Ohio. Not sure I can take any more now but would like to continue be of service and also learn to pivot to for profit boards as well.

Babcock & Wilcox
I have always had a passion for giving back and look at every opportunity as a chance to learn, grow professional networks, and make a valued difference. My hope is that the skills I can share with an organization and leadership team would be mutually beneficial.
I believe in the power of storytelling to inform results. A thoughtful narrative establishes a foundation of trust, support, and value; fosters long-term partnerships; and drive sales. Because of this, I'm looking to serve on a board with a strong mission whereby I can listen to the narrative to identify opportunities, amplify insights from other board members, and assist by strategically "telling the story" to reach a captive audience.

I recently moved back to Akron with my family after years away and would love to give back to the community and help fuel its growth. I have a lot of knowledge to offer, want to learn more about the local economy/commerce, and want to continue on my path of continuous development through board service.
I'm looking to engage and network with likeminded professionals to serve valuable insights and gain a broader business acumen, spanning markets and areas of professional expertise.
I am driven to board service because of my passion for public service, coupled with a profound belief in the power of diverse perspectives. Through board experience, I aspire to further cultivate my professional development while contributing meaningfully to our community.
I want to serve on a board to help children in our community. I want to give a voice to those who may not have one. I hope to build some relationships as well along the way.
I hope to offer sound leadership and strategic advice to local nonprofit organizations as a board member. I have experience in finance and compliance, which could be beneficial to many organizations.
I want to serve on a board that supports the education, personal, and career development of urban and marginalized youth. Growing up in Akron, OH, I understand the challenges these young people face, and I want to help guide them toward success and freedom, whatever that may mean for them. I benefited greatly from youth development programs, and I hope to have a similar impact on those who come after me. Joining a board will allow me to have a greater impact in a community that I deeply care about.

I have served on Chamber boards in the past and found them very beneficial for myself and the organization. Many non profits are strapped for funds especially when it comes to marketing and advertising. My experience would bring a wealth of knowledge and support.
I would love the opportunity to contribute my expertise, help shape trends, and network with influential professionals. I bring a blend of strategic vision, hands-on marketing experience, and a deep understanding leadership and teamwork.
I've been involved in board and committee service for the past two decades in Stark County. Now, as my professional role includes a heavy emphasis on Summit County, I'm looking for opportunities to grow and serve in areas that align with my personal passions and professional career.
I am motivated to serve on boards of directors as a means to create meaningful impact in the world. My passion for continuous learning drives me to seek out opportunities to gain knowledge through my service, while my commitment to measurable results, inspiring others, and fostering positive change enables me to contribute effectively to the organizations I serve.

I want to serve because I believe that is not enough to give voice to problems... at some point, action needs to support our values and philosophies. I believe in the city of Akron and hope to be able to be a part of the work of realizing the many goals and initiatives in place to make greater Akron, and Summit County as a whole, better.

Having engaged and committed boards that drive the strategy for an organization is crucial to solving the problems we face as a society and building better communities. There is always more to be done, and I love being part of positive action.
I believe service is the rent we pay for room on this earth. Being in the community, working alongside the community, and supporting community progress gives me joy, endless learning opportunities, and sense of purpose.
I desire to help wherever I can, and particularly as a voice at tables where women may have been marginalized in the past. I strongly believe (based on replicable evidence) that diversity of thought leads to better outcomes for businesses, products, employees, and the world.
