I have my lifelong career in service to the city of Akron, its families, community and scholars. I hope to be able to include my experiences with other thought partners who can accelerate and support the growth of this city through meaningful conversations and actions.
Biography
Marcie Ebright is a dynamic lifelong learner and educator, boasting a career spanning over two decades with Akron Public Schools since 1996. Her journey began with a focus on instructional technology, where she spearheaded initiatives across the expansive urban district. Notably, Marcie played a pivotal role in the establishment of an online school and led statewide professional learning conferences, showcasing her innovative approach to education.

Currently, Marcie holds the esteemed position of Director of the College & Career Academies of Akron (CCAA) within the district. In this influential role, she champions a transformative vision for K-12 education, emphasizing student experiences, teaching methodologies, and fostering vital business engagements. Through her leadership, Marcie ensures that every scholar's journey is marked by opportunities to realize their personal aspirations.

Marcie's educational journey is underpinned by a strong academic background. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Kent State University, complemented by a Master's degree in Technology Education from the University of Akron. Additionally, she has attained an administrative degree from Cleveland State University, further enhancing her expertise in educational leadership.

Driven by a personal vision that places scholars at the forefront of her decision-making, Marcie remains dedicated to facilitating an environment where each student can thrive. Beyond her professional endeavors, Marcie finds fulfillment in her personal life in Akron, Ohio. She cherishes time spent with her family, cherished friends, and her beloved canine companion, Joe.
