Serving on a board is always something I have had an interest in doing as part of my passion to give back to the Akron community and help create positive change. Additionally, I believe that board service will provide me with the opportunity to further my professional growth and expand my knowledge base in an industry that may fulfill a cause I am passionate about.
Biography
My name is Candace Smith, and I serve as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations at The University of Akron. Being an Akron Native, I am passionate about positively impacting my community and look forward to doing so by joining a board within the community I love. It is my hope to bring a unique perspective that helps a local nonprofit reach its fullest growth potential and achieve targeted goals while also developing a deeper connection within an industry I am currently not connected to.
