Company
Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center
Overview
I want to serve on a board because I am passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities, particularly those who are vulnerable and underserved. Having worked closely with survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault, I’ve developed a deep commitment to supporting these individuals and advocating for systemic change. Serving on a board will provide me with the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals, share my expertise, and contribute to strategic decisions that can create lasting change. What I hope to gain from board service is a deeper understanding of the broader challenges and opportunities within the field, as well as the chance to strengthen my leadership and advocacy skills in a collaborative, solution-focused environment. I am eager to learn from others and work together to amplify the impact of the organization’s mission.
Biography
In my current role at the Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center for Summit and Medina County, I oversee the shelter residents and staff while helping to create and implement policies and services related to domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault. I work to ensure that survivors receive the support and resources they need while maintaining a safe and effective environment. My previous experience in emergency care at Summa Hospital's trauma unit, emergency room, and labor and delivery department, combined with my work in Akron Public Schools’ behavioral unit, has provided me with a diverse skill set in crisis management, support services, and trauma-informed care. I can bring valuable insights to a board, especially when it comes to understanding the needs of survivors, developing policies to support vulnerable populations, and fostering a collaborative, trauma-sensitive approach to service delivery.
