Overview
I am interested in serving on a board because I realize that boards have the opportunity to create policy as well as rules and guidelines as it relates to the organization. In creating policy and guidelines this can allow for an organization to receive a positive impact for sustainable growth. As an African American, millennial female, I believe I can provide a unique perspective to certain situations that are not always presented when decisions for organization are being made.
Biography
Allyson Strickland has a strong passion for advocating for vulnerable community members and students in the school system. Allyson has over 12 years of experience in education consisting of the classroom and on the district level. With a masters in public administration with focuses on strategic planning and leadership development, Allyson was a member of Akron Public Schools' strategic planning team as it created the district-wide Blueprint for Excellence and is a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion district team. Allyson recently graduated from the University of Akron School of Law with a certification in Constitutional Law.
